Acoustic Rock & Blues

Selective Memory is a three-piece classic rock cover band from Santa Barbara, California, with a heavy lean toward the blues. The name is the whole idea: we kept the songs worth keeping and forgot the rest.

The band came together in 2025 and has been playing wine bars and local venues along the coast ever since. Most of what we play traces back to the blues: the shuffles, the slow burners and the classic rock that grew out of them. A trio leaves nowhere to hide, so the arrangements stay lean and the voices do the heavy lifting. Strong vocal harmonies are the part people mention on their way out.

A night with us is built for a room where people are talking, laughing and working through a good bottle. The sets are familiar enough to sing along with, bluesy enough to stretch out on, and broken up by a little banter between songs. We keep the volume where you can still hear the person across the table.
